Tim Dickson - Editor and Co-founder

Tim Dickson is a keen amateur golfer who is a member of Royal St George’s, Royal Wimbledon, Royal Portrush and the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews. He once played golf off 5; he now plays off 9.

 

Born and brought up in Northern Ireland, he was educated at schools in Dublin, Uppingham and Los Angeles and read History at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge.  He trained as a journalist in Newcastle upon Tyne, spent 21 years with the Financial Times, and has held senior publishing posts with PwC and McKinsey & Company.

Jon Connell

Jon Connell - Publisher and Co Founder

Jon Connell was born in Scotland and was educated at Gordonstoun and St Andrews University. Like Tim he trained as a journalist in Newcastle upon Tyne, held various posts on the Sunday Times (notably on The Insight Team, as Washington Correspondent, and as Defence Correspondent), and became deputy Editor of The Sunday Telegraph.

 

Twenty five years ago he started The Week magazine, one of the great publishing successes of the 21st century. More recently, he has established The Connell Guides and “All you Need to Know’ series with more than 80 titles between them.

Fiona Hill - Chief Designer

Fiona worked with both Tim and Jon at the Financial Times and Sunday Times respectively. She was Deputy Design Director at The Daily Telegraph and was instrumental in the launch of the short-lived Sunday Correspondent in 1989.

 

Now living in Glass, Aberdeenshire, where she works remotely, Fiona launched Finks Publishing in 1994. She has published her own children’s book The Battle of the Colours (2013), and has produced various tourist publications. Sorbeo, her brand of horse bedding, is one of the favourites in the UK market.
